THUMB-PRINT COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 2 egg yolks 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sifted flour 2 slightly beaten egg whites 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. finely chopped pecans Mix together thoroughly butter, brown sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Sift together flour and salt. Stir into above ingredients. Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Dip into slightly beaten egg whites. Roll in chopped pecans. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes. Thumb print. Return to oven and bake 8 minutes longer. Cool. Drop confectioners' butter frosting, tinted different colors into thumb print. |
