CREAM OF TOMATO SOUP 
2 tsp. onion, chopped
1 stick butter
1/3 c. flour
4 tsp. sugar
4 c. tomato juice
4 c. cold milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Saute onion in 1/2 stick butter. Add flour, sugar, remaining 1/2 stick of butter, salt and pepper and cook until bubbly. Remove from heat and stir in tomato juice. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Slowly stir cold milk into hot mixture. Heat rapidly to serving temperature and serve.
