CHOCO - MALLOW COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
1 2/3 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
18 big marshmallows, cut in half

COCOA ICING:

2 c. powdered sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. soft butter
4 to 5 tbsp. canned milk or light cream

Cream shortening and sugar; beat in egg, vanilla and milk. Sift dry ingredients together, then stir into creamed mixture. Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and press 1/2 marshmallow cut side down into each cookie. Return to oven for 2 minutes, then remove and cool. Frost with Cocoa Icing. Approximate yield is 3 dozen cookies.

ICING: Combine all ingredients with enough milk to make a spreading consistency. Beat until smooth.
