JOE'S CORN STICKS OR BREAD 
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
1 c. milk (sour or buttermilk)
1/4 c. oil
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. flour

If using sour milk, use baking soda instead of baking powder.

Mix and sift flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Combine egg and milk. Add to flour mixture, stirring until well mixed. Stir in oil. Turn into well greased, shallow pan. Place in hot 400 degree oven. Bake about 30 minutes.

To make corn sticks, place completed mixture into a greased bread stick pan or regular bread pan and bake in hot 425 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
