BATTER DIPPED TOMATOES 
4 med. tomatoes, just turning
1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
3/4 c. evaporated milk (a must)
Oil for frying

Wash tomatoes but do not peel and dry completely, then slice. Combine flour, sugar, salt, pepper and dust tomatoes that have been sliced, on both sides.

Add evaporated milk to the remaining flour to make a thick batter. Dip flour tomatoes in thick batter and fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. About 6 servings.
