2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa in water to make paste
1/2 c. lard
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sour milk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, cocoa, lard and eggs, then add flour sifted with salt, milk, soda, (mix with some milk), and vanilla. Put in 2 x 14 x 10 pan and bake in 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes.
