STRAWBERRY FROST SQUARES | |
1 c. flour, sifted 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped 1/2 c. butter, melted 2 egg whites 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries, thawed 2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 c. Cool Whip 2/3 c. sugar Mix flour, walnuts, brown sugar and butter in a 9" x 13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally so as not to burn. Remove 1/3 mixture and reserve. Spread remaining mixture evenly over bottom of pan. Let cool. Beat lemon juice, sugar and egg whites for at least 15 minutes until peaks form. Fold in whipped cream and strawberries. Place in pan over crumb mixture and top with remaining crumbs. Freeze for at least 3 hours before serving. Serves 12 to 15. |
