2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter
3/4 to 1 c. milk
1/2 c. honey
Cinnamon
1/4 c. currants

Sift flour and baking powder and salt together. Cut in butter. Add milk gradually, stirring until soft dough is formed. Turn on lightly floured board and knead lightly 30 seconds. Roll tightly into oblong piece, about 1/4 inch thick. Drizzle honey over surface and sprinkle with cinnamon, currants, and pecans entire surface. Roll dough as you would jelly roll. Slice 1 inch and place, cut side down, on oiled or butter cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven (375 degrees) about 15 minutes until brown.

I was craving cinnamon pinwheels for at least a week and found this recipe. While I didn't follow it exactly It's a great simple dough. Came out nice and soft really yummy. The pinwheels plumped up nice in the oven and stayed big after they where out of it. Love this simple childhood comfort food!

I didn't use any nuts or currents and I only sprinkled the outer part of the roll with some ginger. I also substituted the milk for almond milk, and added two tablespoons of sour cream. I thought I used a bit too much cinnamon in the middle but with the honey it came out great.
