THE QUEENS OATS 
8 c. regular rolled oats
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. regular wheat germ
1 1/2 c. unprocessed bran
1/2 c. nuts, seeds or coconut
1/2 c. salad oil
3/4 c. maple syrup or honey
2 tsp. vanilla or maple flavoring

Stir to blend oats, sugar, wheat germ, nuts or seeds, bran, and other ingredients as desired. In small pan, heat oil, honey or syrup, and vanilla, stirring until bubbling. Thoroughly mix liquids with dry ingredients. Divide between 2 greased baking sheets (10 x 15) spreading evenly. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Stir again several times as it cools to prevent sticking. When cool, add raisins or chopped dried fruit if desired. Store in airtight container. For optional ingredients, add dry before baking; add moist after baking.
