HOT SAUSAGE SOUP 
1 lb. hot sausage links
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. green pepper, chopped
4 c. beef broth, from can or bouillon cubes
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. basil
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes in puree
1 c. "bow ties" noodles

Saute sausage. Drain. Add onion and pepper. Stir together and add broth, tomatoes and spices. Bring to a boil and simmer on low for 1 hour. Add bow ties and cook until bow ties are tender, about 8-10 minutes longer. Serve with fresh Italian bread. For a milder soup, use sweet sausage. Serves 4-5.
