WILD ROSE COOKIES 
3/4 c. soft shortening (part butter)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. lemon or vanilla flavoring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix shortening and butter, sugar, eggs and flavoring well. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in; chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2 inch scalloped cutter. Bake on ungreased baking sheet 6 to 8 minutes until delicately brown. Cool and frost with pink icing. Place yellow gumdrop in center of cookie. Any powdered sugar icing will do.
