LEMON BREAD PUDDING 
4 c. bread crumbs or cubes
6 or 8 slices bread
3 eggs
3 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. raisins
2 tbsp. melted butter
Grated lemon peel
1/4 salt
Pinch of nutmeg

In a large, shallow baking pan, arrange the bread cubes in a single layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes - to dry the bread. Meanwhile, combine all remaining ingredients, except nutmeg. Stir to dissolve the sugar. In a large bowl, pour the milk mixture over the dried bread cubes and mix well. Let soak for 10 minutes. Pour into a well buttered casserole. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Set the casserole in a shallow baking pan filled with 1 inch of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Remove, cool, and serve with Warm Lemon Sauce.
