PEPPER STEAK 
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 1/2 lbs. round steak, 3/4 inch thick
2 tbsp. shortening
1 can Campbell's onion soup
1/2 c. ketchup
1 med. green pepper, cut into 8 strips

Combine flour and seasonings; pound into meat with meat hammer or edge of heavy saucer. In skillet, brown meat in shortening; pour off fat. Add soup and ketchup. Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour. Add green pepper; cook 20 minutes or until tender. Stir now and then. Serve with mashed potatoes. 4 servings.
