CUT - OUT COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Beat sugar and butter together until fluffy and light. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients and mix well. Chill several hours or overnight. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness on lightly floured surface. Cut with 3 inch cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees 5 to 7 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool slightly and remove from sheet. Cool completely. Frost and decorate as desired. Makes approximately 4 dozen 3 inch cookies.
