DEEP DISH APPLE PIE 
15 sliced and pared apples
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tbsp. cooking tapioca
2 tbsp. butter
Pastry for 1 pie

Combine apples, sugar, salt and tapioca. Turn into a casserole (or 8 inch square baking dish) and dot with butter. Cover with pie crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
