HOT FRUIT SALAD | |
Use fruits of your choice from the following: Canned pears, peaches, maraschino cherries, apricot halves, pineapple chunks (save the pineapple juice), prunes, fresh apples (peeled and cut into pieces). SAUCE: 2/3 stick butter 3/4 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Melt the butter. Add the brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix with pineapple juice. Mix fruit and place in large casserole dish. Spoon sauce over fruit. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. Better if cooked the day before and reheated before serving. |
