CHERRY COBBLER 
FILLING:

1 can water packed pie cherries (liquid included)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. red food coloring

DOUGH:

1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
1 stick (1/2 c.) butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat cherries with 1 cup sugar and food coloring until they come to a boil. Mix flour, the second cup of sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, egg and vanilla to make a batter. Drop by spoon into hot fruit. Bake at 350 degrees until browned.
