1 onion, finely chopped
1 cup finely chopped green pepper or red bell pepper

1 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. dried parsley
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes (optional)

In a large saucepan, sauté ground beef or turkey until brown. Add onion, green or red pepper, and celery and continue to cook for 5 minutes or until vegetables begin to soften.

Add the remaining ingredients and cover; simmer on low for 30 minutes.

Serve on hamburger buns or over cooked white rice.

Serves 8 to 10.

Note: If using brown sugar, add during the last 10 minutes of cooking time; otherwise it may burn.
