1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or lard
2/3 c. milk
2 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg whites

TOP MIXTURE:

5 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. cream
1/2 c. coconut, scant

Mix together and pour in 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. When cake is done, 20 to 25 minutes, spread top mixture over top and put back in oven to brown. Oven at 350 degrees.
