MILK CHOCOLATE PECAN BARS 
1 c. unsifted flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened

Combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press evenly into a greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. pecans, chopped (divided into two 1/2 c.)

Melt chocolate chips over hot (not boiling) water. Remove from heat. In a small bowl, combine eggs, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. Beat 2 minutes at high speed with an electric mixer. Add melted chocolate and mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup pecans. Pour topping over cookies. Sprinkle with remaining pecans. Return to 350 degree oven and bake 17-19 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into 2x1 inch bars.
