HAZEL'S CARAMEL SAUCE TOPPING 
2 c. light brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/4 to 1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk

Mix above ingredients in 1 1/2-quart saucepan over low heat until thickened to preference. Only add enough milk to make syrup. Keep in warm heat until ready to serve. Use as topping on yellow pan cake square. Cut through the middle with slices of vanilla ice cream inserted between cake slices.
