HOT SPICED CIDER 
2 qts. apple cider
1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
1/2 orange, thinly sliced
4 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves
1 allspice berry

In a large, non-aluminum saucepan, heat the cider with the lemon and orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice berry. When the mixture is hot but not boiling, turn off the heat and cover the pan. Let it sit for twenty minutes. Preheat the cider until it is hot, ladle it into mugs discarding the spices and serve at once.
