BANANA BREAD 
1/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
1 1/2 flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. overripe mashed bananas

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to bowl. Blend in bananas and mix thoroughly. Grease and flour a loaf pan. Pour in batter and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Test with a toothpick. Cool on a rack.
