FLOATING PIE 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 pt. canned fruit and juice
2/3 c. sugar

Mix first four ingredients, sugar, flour, baking powder and milk. Place in deep casserole or loaf pan. Then put in the canned fruit and juice (cherries, peaches, berries, etc.) and the 2/3 cup sugar (more or less can be used according to sweetness of fruit.

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1 tsp. sugar

Soften butter, cinnamon, sugar. sprinkle with topping and bake in 370 degree oven for 35 minutes to 45 minutes. Batter rises to top and gets crusty.
