CORN BREAD DRESSING | |
3/4 c. reg. cornmeal 1 c. boiling water 1 c. buttermilk 2 eggs 1/2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. shortening (melted) 1 onion (chopped) 1/2 c. celery (chopped) 2 tbsp. parsley (chopped) 1 tsp. poultry seasoning Salt and pepper to taste Mix meal, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper and blend in liquid ingredients along with eggs. Pour in a greased pan and bake as cornbread at 400 degrees. After baked, crumble cornbread up and add chopped onions, celery which has been browned with 1/2 lb. sausage. Season with chopped parsley and poultry seasoning. Add salt and pepper as needed. Moisten with broth from giblets. Bake 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. |
