ORANGE SPIRALS 
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 c. milk, scalded
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
5 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp. orange peel (grated)
1/4 c. orange juice
1 recipe Orange Filling

Soften yeast in warm water. Combine scalded milk, sugar, shortening and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in about 2 cups flour and beat well.

Add eggs (one at a time) beating well after each. Stir in yeast, orange juice and peel. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes on floured surface. Knead the dough 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place in lightly greased bowl and let rise until doubled. Punch down and divide dough in half. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Roll each half into 12x9, 1/4 inch thick and spread with orange filling.

Roll like jelly roll. Cut in 1 inch slices and place in greased muffin pans. Let raise until doubled. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.

ORANGE FILLING:

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. orange peel
1/4 c. butter

Mix and spread on dough. Roll up like cinnamon rolls.

ORANGE ICING:

Powdered sugar
Orange peel
Butter
Just enough orange juice to mix
