4 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. can evaporated milk
1/2 lb. butter
3 pkgs. semi sweet chocolate chips
3 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (opt.)

Cook sugar and milk for 6 minutes after mixture comes to a boil or bubble stage, stirring constantly. Remove from stove and add all other ingredients. Mix well. Add nuts. Pour into a greased 9"x13" pan and let stand six hours.
