BROILED STEAK TROPICAL
1/4 c. orange juice
1/4 c. imitation strawberry preserves (2 calories per tsp.)
2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
1 oz. orange flavored liqueur
1 tbsp. chopped fresh mint
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground white pepper
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
4 (4 oz.) boneless lean beef tenderloin steaks
2 tsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. cornstarch

To prepare marinade, in gallon-size sealable plastic bag, combine orange juice, preserves, lime juice, liqueur, mint, garlic salt, ginger and pepper. Add steaks; seal bag, squeezing out air; turn to coat. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight, turning bag over occasionally.

Spray broiler pan with nonstick cooking spray; preheat broiler. Remove steaks from bag; reserve marinade. Pat steaks dry. Brush evenly with oil. Broil steaks 10-12 minutes, or until done to taste, turning once. Makes 4 servings.

To prepare sauce, in small saucepan, mix reserved marinade and cornstarch until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low; simmer 1 minute or until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Spoon sauce evenly over steaks.
