2 c. Bisquick mix
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
5 level tbsp. soft shortening or oil
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease baking sheets. Combine all ingredients. Beat vigorously until well blended. Drop by tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Remove cookies and sprinkle lightly with sugar.
