APPLE DANISH BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
6-8 apples, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg white, beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk + water to equal 2/3 c.
1 c. corn flakes
1 tbsp. lemon juice

SUGAR GLAZE (optional) :

1 c. confectioners' sugar
4-5 tsp. milk

Stir salt into flour. Cut in shrotening until crumbly. Add egg yolk mixture. Chill 20 minutes. Roll out 1/2 dough (leave other in refrigerator). Fit onto cookie sheet and up sides of sheet. Sprinkle with corn flakes. Top with apples then sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

Roll out other half of dough, place over apples, seal and crimp edges. Slash top, brush with egg white, bake at 375 for 40 minutes.

Option: While warm, drizzle with sugar glaze.
