PASTIES 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
4 lbs. potatoes, chopped
1 c. minced onion
1 lb. carrots, chopped
1 med. size rutabaga, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Pats of butter
Pie crust enough for 10 to 9 inch crusts

Roll crust out and fill 1/2 of crust with vegetable mixture. Put at least 2 pats of butter and salt and pepper to taste. Seal each carefully and make 2 or 3 (1/2 inch) slits on the top for steam to escape. Bake 1 hour at 400 degrees. After they are baked they freeze well. Microwaved to heat up. Serve with catsup.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
