PASTIES 
1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
1/2 sm. head cabbage, shredded
3 carrots, diced
3 sm. potatoes, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1 onion, diced

Mix all ingredients in large bowl and season to taste with salt and pepper. Make two batches of pie crust and cut into thirds. Roll crusts flat and fill with mixture. Add two 1/4 inch slices of butter on top and bring up edges of crust to meet at top, and pinch shut. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes. Crust should be lightly brown.

Makes 6 pasties.
