1 c. shortening 4 oz. regular cocoa 1 1/2 c. regular flour (not Wondra) 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. Karo white or light corn syrup 6 oz. chocolate chips Melt shortening and cocoa over low heat. Set aside to cool. Beat eggs. Add sugar, beat again. Add cooled shortening, cocoa mixture; beat again. Add Karo syrup. Beat again. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat again. Add vanilla and then chocolate chips and mix. Grease pans thoroughly and flour. Pour into pans. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 35 minutes. (This freezes very nicely.) |
