MULLED CIDER 
2 qts. fresh cider (unpasteurized)
1/2 lemon, cut in 1/8" slices
1/2 orange, cut in 1/8" slices
12 whole cloves
12 whole allspice
1 whole nutmeg, scored
1 stick cinnamon, broken
4 tbsp. brown sugar
8 lemon slices

Mix all ingredients except lemon slices in large saucepan; heat slowly until just under boiling. If serving immediately, let cool a bit and pour into cups or glasses over a silver spoon. A lemon slice should be floating in each serving and a stick of cinnamon may be added for a stirrer. Serves 8.
