BEEF AND RICE CASSEROLE 
1/2 can of tomato sauce (8 oz.)
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. oregano

Combine ingredients and mix well. Pat mixture into bottom and the sides of greased 9 inch pie plate. Then make filling. 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz.) 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. water 1 c. grated cheese

Combine rice, tomato sauce, salt, water and 1/2 of the cheese. Spoon mixture into pie plate lined with meat mixture. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Uncover and top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes longer. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
