CHOCOLATE CHERRY POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
5 eggs
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, chopped
2 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter, shortening. Add sugar and eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients sifted together. Add milk, vanilla, cherries, and nuts. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR WHILE BAKING.
