3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. each salt, cloves, cinnamon
1 c. molasses
3/4 c. salad oil
1 1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Sift dry ingredients into 10 x 14 inch pan. Stir in remaining ingredients just until all are well mixed. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Cool in pan. Can be frosted with a plain vanilla icing or dusted with powdered sugar.
