1 c. oatmeal (not instant) 1 stick butter 1 3/4 c. boiling water 1 c. sugar 1 c. brown sugar, lightly packed 2 lg. eggs 1 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 to 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 (10 oz.) box semi-sweet Toll House Premier chocolate treasures 1 c. mini chips 3/4 c. nuts (walnuts or pecans), chopped In large bowl, pour boiling water over oats and butter. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in sugars and eggs (slightly beaten). Combine dry ingredients and add to oat mixture. Stir in 10 ounce box of chocolate treasurers. Pour batter into greased and floured, 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle mini chips and nuts over. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Makes 24 squares. Note: Especially good served with ice cream. |
