MOM'S APPLE PIE 
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt

FILLING:

13 apples, skinned and sliced
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Sprinkle of cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg

Combine filling ingredients and place in a 9 inch pie plate with the bottom crust on bottom. Place pats of pure butter all around pie and put cover crust on top. Make a star cut for steam to escape and bake in 400 degree oven for 40 minutes or until a golden brown.
