MANDARIN SALAD 
1/2 c. sliced almonds
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1 c. chopped celery
2 whole green onions, chopped
1/2 head romaine lettuce
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges, drained

Dressing:

1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
dash of Tabasco
2 tbsp. parsley

Mix dressing ingredients well and refrigerate. Heat almonds and 3 tablespoons sugar in saucepan until almonds are coated. Set aside. Top lettuce with celery, almonds, onions and mandarin oranges.

Important: Add dressing right before serving and toss.
