MANDARIN SALAD 
1/2 c. sliced almonds
3 tsp. sugar
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 head romaine lettuce
1 c. chopped celery
2 whole green onions, chopped
1 - 11 oz. can Mandarin oranges, drained

In small frying pan over medium heat, cook almonds and 3 tsp. sugar stirring constantly until almonds are well coated and sugar is dissolved. Cool and store in airtight container.

Tear lettuce in bite size pieces. Toss with celery and onion. Store in plastic bag in refrigerator. Before serving add almonds and oranges and toss with dressing. Gets well coated if tossed in plastic bag.

Dressing:

1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1/4 c. oil
1 tbsp. fresh parsley chopped
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
dash Tabasco
