PECAN TORTE 
5 eggs, separated
1 c. powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
1/2 c. fine graham cracker crumbs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Frosting

Beat egg yolks until light and thick. Add sugar, salt, vanilla; beat until creamy. Fold in cracker crumbs, baking powder and pecans. Last fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into oiled and floured pan. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and frost.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
4 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. hot milk

Cream butter; add 1 cup sugar, vanilla, salt, hot milk. Mix well. Add remaining sugar, beat until creamy.
