1 egg
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup hot water
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour milk
1 tbsp. vanilla

Mix cocoa in hot water, pour in with all the ingredients and beat with mixer.

Bake at 350°F until done. Spread with favorite icing.
