1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. chocolate syrup
1 c. flour (sifted)
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add chocolate syrup, flour and vanilla. Beat well. Bake at 350 degrees. I usually bake in rectangular pan rather than layers.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. evaporated milk

Bring these ingredients to a boil. Boil 2 minutes. Add: 1/2 cup chocolate chips - beat or stir until melted. Add 1 cup of nuts and spread on cake.
