CHERRY CRISS-CROSS SQUARES 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
21 oz. can cherry pie filling (any kind of pie filling may be used)

Grease and flour 11 1/2 x 13 inch baking sheet. Cream Crisco, eggs, and sugar. Add vanilla, baking powder and flour. Batter will be thick. Spread 3/4 of batter on prepared sheet. Spread pie filling over batter. Drop remaining batter by spoonfuls on pie filling. Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees.
