SHIRLEY'S PEANUT BUTTER CRISS
CROSSES
 
1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda

Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients, stir into cream mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of floured fork to make criss crosses. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven about 10 minutes. For richer cookies, use 2 cups of flour.
