STEAK SOUP 
1 stick butter
1 c. flour
1/2 gal. water
1 c. onion, cubed
1 c. celery, cubed
1 c. potatoes, cubed
1 c. carrots, cubed
2 c. frozen mixed vegetables
2 tbsp. beef base (not bouillon cube; paste is supposed to be best)
1 can tomatoes
1 tbsp. accent
1/2 tbsp. black pepper
2 lbs. ground beef

Melt butter and whip in flour to make smooth paste. Stir in water. Saute ground beef; drain off grease and add to soup. Add onions, carrots, potatoes and celery which have been par-boiled. Add remaining ingredients and bring to boil; reduce to simmer and cook until vegetables are done. Makes 1 gallon soup. Good for freezing!
