SHIPWRECK CASSEROLE 
4 potatoes
4 carrots
Minute rice (uncooked)
1 tbsp. onion
Chopped celery (3 or 4 stalks)
1 lb. chopped meat
1 or 2 cans tomato soup
Few slices bacon

Grease a casserole dish. Peel 3 or 4 potatoes, slice and put them in bottom of casserole and season with salt. On next layer, slice 3 or 4 carrots over. Next put a layer of uncooked minute rice and about 1 tablespoon of finely shopped onion. Chopped celery may be added as the next layer if desired, (3 or 4 stalks). Brown 1 pound chopped meat and add over the rice. Top with one can of tomato soup. Cover and bake in 350 degrees oven for 1 1/2 hour. Then 1/2 hour before done uncover and put a few slices of bacon over the top and return to the oven, (2 cans of soup may be added for a juicier casserole.)
