COOKED FROSTING 
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening

Cook milk and flour together until thick. Cool. Beat together butter and shortening for 4 minutes. Gradually add 1 cup sugar. Beat 4 minutes. Add paste. Beat 4 more minutes. Makes enough for 2 layer cake or 24 cupcakes.
