7 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. crushed strawberries
1 c. water
1 tsp. alum

Combine sugar and water. Boil for 5 minutes. Add 2 1/2 cups crushed strawberries and boil for 5 minutes more. Add 1 level teaspoon powdered alum and boil 1 minute, then skim it and it is finished.
